Atlanta’s Memorial Drive Bike Path Is Finally Happening
More than 5 years after the Georgia Dept of Transportation first said they were open to reworking one of Atlanta’ primary east-west corridors, the restriping is finally happening.
In some ways, Memorial Drive has been even more of a block to Atlanta cyclists than I-20. It’s fast, has too many lane changes, is narrow (in a bad way), and is impossible to cross. Adding a protected bike lane that connects the Reynoldstown PATH and the BeltLine all the way to Downtown creates a whole series of bikeable routes.
