Orthodox Church by Timothy Ware

The Orthodox Church by Timothy Ware is an introductory book on the history, beliefs, and practices of the Orthodox Church. The book covers a variety of aspects of the Orthodox Church, including its theology, its history, and its interactions with Christians who are not Orthodox.

The book is divided into two parts, with the first part covering the history of the Orthodox Church and the second part taking up various theological themes and looking at the worship of the Orthodox Church.

What I Liked

For a religion book, it’s pretty accessible.

What I Did Not Like

I figured it was a niche book when I started (I picked it up since there’s an Orthodox Church near my house that I knew nothing about)…but wow was it super niche. It requires quite a bit of background and jargon / definitions to read through.
