His Dark Materials- The Golden Compass : The Subtle Knife : The Amber Spyglass

The Subtle Knife is the second book in the His Dark Materials trilogy, a young-adult fantasy novel published in 1997 (which also includes Golden Compass and Amber Spyglass). The novel continues the adventures of Lyra Belacqua as she investigates the mysterious Dust phenomenon and searches for her father.

Will Parry is introduced as a companion to Lyra, and together they explore new worlds in the search for Will’s father. Throughout the book, Will and Lyra have conflicts with different kinds of authority and authority figures.

What I Liked

The His Dark Materials series, along with Chronicles of Narnia, are my absolute favorite children’s novels. I cannot wait to read them to my kids. It’s an incredible world with amazing characters.
