The Chattahoochee River Through Georgia

The Chattahoochee River Through Georgia 1

The Chattahoochee River is Georgia’s River. It’s also one of the hardest working rivers in America. I’ve been able to visit nearly every major point along the River.

In the North, it starts on public land. In the middle, it runs through Metro Atlanta, and fronts the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. And in the south, it’s bordered by several State Parks.

I didn’t set out to explore the River at all. I just happened to do it in the course of exploring Georgia. To me, it showed how even though we think that roads and rail structure our world…things like rivers and mountains are still the things that determine why things like cities, parks, etc are where they are.
