Bend on the Conasauga River

Conasauga Riverbend

Georgia’s Conasauga River is one of the loveliest rivers I’ve ever seen. The river is home to over 90 species of fish and 25 surviving species of freshwater mussels. It runs clean and clear while protected in the National Forest. Unfortunately, once it hits Dalton, almost 1/3 of the flow is taken for carpet production – and then returned untreated.
