3 Reasons Why Walking Is Underrated
I think some people own dogs and do the 10,000 steps thing just to have an excuse to walk. Walking around is possibly the most underrated activity ever.
It’s Just Good
I think any activity should be benchmarked against that feeling you have right after going for a walk. It’s that right mix of being truly relaxed, slightly tired, but also feeling productive and virtuous. It’s right on.
There’s No Right Way
Unlike running, gym training, biking, etc, walking has thankfully avoided too much commercialization and lifestyle-ification. It’s like the Thanksgiving of holidays. Walking in your jeans is just as normal as t-shirt and shorts.
You Really Don’t Need an Excuse
For a while, I was actually jealous of dog owners who all have like the perfect excuse to go for a walk. But then I realized that I really don’t need an excuse to go either. I can go for 5 minutes or 50. It sounds weird to admit it – but it’s really not a habit people have anymore.
Don’t change clothes or shoes. Just walk out the door and walk for 5 minutes.
