Fog on Chestnut Lead Trail in the Cohutta Wilderness 1

The Cohutta mountains in Georgia’s section of the Appalachians are not especially high, but their topography is unique enough to generate their own weather.

This section of Chestnut Lead Trail was socked in with dense fog while the sky just over the ridge was clear with blue skies.
