Clearing Blowdown on Conasauga River Trail

The most satisfying parts of volunteering with a Forest Service Trail Crew (specifically the amazing Cohutta Wilderness Trail Volunteers) is the direct connection between work and result. There are few jobs nowadays where you clearly see the outcome of your work at the end of the day. But at the end of a volunteer day, you get to literally walk through your work. It’s great. And a highly recommended way to volunteer on public lands – whether it’s a state park, city park, National Forest, National Park, or any of our many forms of amazing public lands.
