Mount Shasta
Mount Shasta is a potentially active stratovolcano in Northern California. I got to see it on the drive from Crater Lake National Park to Lassen Volcanic National Park.
I had never heard of it and had no idea that it existed. But wow! It’s huge (like 14,000+ feet), nearly perfectly shaped, and lords over an entire landscape.
It’s all in National Forest land (for the most part), but does not get the recognition of its sister volcanoes like Rainier, Hood, etc.
