Blackberry Cobbler
This is a photo of my first blackberry cobbler that I made with blackberries grown in my own backyard. A few notes –
- Cobblers have to have the best enjoyment to effort ratio of any dessert. It’s so simple with so few ingredients (butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, fruit), but so amazing…especially with ice cream.
- It pays to have a fruit with serious tart for a cobbler. Blackberries work well. I’m hoping that our new peach tree will put out soon. Those will be really good too.
- We planted the thornless blackberry bushes from Fast Growing Trees. They turned out really well. They had lots of growth; they were easy to train on my rudimentary wire runners; they were easy (and painless!) to harvest.
