Wikenigma – A Website of Unknowns

Ohhh…I love this -> Wikenigma – A Website of Unknowns
The idea that, in a world of AI, statistical modeling, interconnectedness, personalized medicine, and instant communication, there are still fairly basic things that we just do not know or understand is encouraging & exciting in a weird way.
Like, we don’t know who invented the bicycle or why a bike self-stabilizes (?). We have had massive archaeological digs in Central America related to the Mayans…but we still don’t know what happened.

Apparently cancer will just…go away and we don’t know how that happens – like not even the physical molecular causes?
We don’t exactly know why Cold Water Swimming helps with Depression.
There’s even things like the $0.99 discount – we know why it works; everyone knows that it’s a “trick”…and yet we don’t know why it works so well – or even why it’s so persistent.
Why is kissing so universal among all human cultures?
Why is the Moon SO HUGE ON THE HORIZON (?!?!) – like, every human ever has noticed this. It is NOT an optical illusion. It’s a psychological illusion. And yet. We don’t know why?
And what is breaking inside our brains when we have something on the Tip of the Tongue?!?!? WE DON’T KNOW!
