Longmire Cabin In Mt. Rainier National Park

Rustic Cabin In Forest

I love coming across historical structures in the National Parks. They are fairly common in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (it was almost completely resettled by white farmers after the Cherokee farmers were removed), but less common out West.

The land around Mt Rainier National Park was settled before the Park by the Longmire family. You can still visit their cabin in the woods. It’s extremely basic, but there’s something really interesting about it in America’s Mythology. And it’s crazy to see an actual pioneer cabin deep in the woods.
