Future Southeast Atlanta BeltLine

Southeast BeltLine

The big project happening in Atlanta right now is the Atlanta BeltLine. It’s a plan to convert abandoned railroads around Atlanta to form a 22 mile loop around the central city grade separated from roads.

It will consist of a wide multi-use path, plus light rail. The east section of the BeltLine has been a success (also make a great place for running), and most city of Atlantans are hanging around itching for the entire project to finish.

I live in the southeast section of Grant Park just a few blocks from the forthcoming Southeast section. The photo above shows the right of way as of 2016.

The section is now in the design phase and pending funding will start construction soon after. We can’t wait.
